JUDAH MEADE
Judah Meade is a London-based film director working across narrative film and theatre.
Judah Meade’s work is driven by a desire to create stories that audiences experience rather than simply watch. Rather than only telling viewers what a character is going through, he aims to immerse them in the tension, humour, fear, and emotion of each moment, making them feel present within the story.
Drawn to fantasy, science fiction, and psychological thrillers, he uses genre as a way to explore deeply human themes such as identity, mental health, fear, loneliness, and the unseen aspects of people's lives. He believes that speculative worlds, unusual phenomena, and heightened realities can reveal emotional truths that are often difficult to express directly, allowing audiences to engage with complex ideas in an accessible and meaningful way.
HIS WORK
His directing work includes Twenty-Seven, a Netflix-funded psychological thriller developed with Fully Focused Productions, alongside the independently crowdfunded science-fiction short Kolaja, Gen Z Luv, The Healer, and Do You Want Some Bread?. He has also directed theatre productions at Theatre Peckham, with work presented as part of a writers' showcase at the Royal Court.
“For me, filmmaking is about both sides of the experience: what happens between the people making the film and what the finished work gives to the audience. I want to make films that connect with people, stay with them and make difficult feelings & ideas easier to recognise.”
I love working with actors and finding the most honest version of a scene. Bringing different creatives together and building an environment where people feel able to contribute, take risks and do their best work.
Alongside directing, I design and lead practical filmmaking programmes for emerging creatives. I have supported first-time filmmakers through development, production and post-production, helping them gain real experience, complete their work and grow in confidence.
