Kolaja

 Kolaja was independently produced and successfully crowdfunded through Kickstarter. I wrote, directed and produced the film alongside Kaylen and Anthony, building the project from its initial concept through crowdfunding, pre-production, filming and post-production. The campaign allowed us to bring together a cast and crew and create the film outside of a traditional commissioning route. At its centre, Kolaja is a story about connection. Joseph finds it easier to open his home to a stranger from another world than to spend time with his own family. His brief relationship with Rehe becomes a reminder that communication is not only about sharing the same language, but being willing to let someone in.
